Two dimensional fluid flow and heat transfer characteristics of water inside wavy wall open cavity are investigated numerically. Present study shows that at each Richardson and Reynolds number there is an optimum geometry. By increasing the Richardsonnumber average entropy generation will decrease while averaged Nusselt number increased by increasing Richardson number from 0.01 to 1.0 and decreased by increasing Richardson number from 1 to 10. Highest average entropy generation happened with frequency of6π and amplitude of 0.1 and lowest average entropy generation happened with frequency of 4π and amplitude of 0.025. At all open cavity inclined angles, by increasing in Richardson number average entropy generation decreased. Highest average entropy generationhappened at inclined angle of -60 and -45 degrees for different Richardson numbers and lowest average entropy generation happened at inclined angle of 15 degrees. Averaged Nusselt number for different inclined angles doesn’t act the same. For nine studied open cavityinclined angles averaged Nusselt number increases by increasing Richardson number from 0.01 to 0.1 and decreases by increasing Richardson number from 0.1 to 10. For open cavity inclined angle equal to 60, 45 and 30 averaged Nusselt number increases by increasing the Richardson number. For open cavity inclined angles equal to 15 averaged Nusselt number increases by increasing the Richardson number from 0.01 to 0.1 and 1.0 to 10 and decreases by increasing the Richardson number from 0.1 to 10. At all Richardson numbersaverage Nusselt number for the geometry of -60 degree inclined cavity increased 9% compared to simple open cavity geometry.
