The newly developed analysis of exergoeconomic and optimization has paved the way through achievement of more efficient power plants. It provides vital information about the irreversibilities and losses in the cycle and helps to enhance the system efficiency. Thepresent research aims to assess the effect of significant parameters on the overall exergy efficiency and cost of exergy destruction of a power plant with multiple feed water heaters. The results indicate the pivotal role of boiler press ure, boiler inlet temperature and turbine bleed pressures. By increasing boiler pressure and boiler inlet temperature, the overall exergy efficiency will increase and the cost of exergy destruction will decrease. The impact of bleed pressures is also investigated. The results indicate maximum overallexergy efficiency for each bleed flow occurs at a certain pressure. Because some of these factors have various effects on cost and efficiency as objective functions, a multi objective optimization is performed based on genetic algorithm.
