چکیده مقاله:

Of the main environmental concerns in recent decades, has been the prevalence of different pollutants in soil and residuals. Hence the importance of remediation has been highlighted which, in turn, has led to the development of various methods to refine polluted soils. Among these methods, soil washing has gained significant attention as a promising innovative remediation technology to treat polluted soils into organic compounds especially oil and heavy metals. This article reviews and compares the performance of a non-ionic surfactant (Brij35) for remediation of aliphatic & aromatic compounds from soil. For this purpose, Surfactant has been prepared with concentrations of zero (distilled water), 0.5, 2, 4 grams per liter. In all cases of experiment, surfactant volume of 800 ml, 60 minutes of mixing time, and mixing speed of 250 rpm were considered and the pH level of the sample was kept constant. Considering the results presented, it is clearly observed that the ability to remove oil pollutants from soil by water-aided soil washing and enhanced soil washing using surfactant can be evaluated as follows: the ability of surfactant reaches its maximum degree when concentration is at its highest. Also, in this process, the ability of surfactant in aliphatic & aromatic removal compared to that of water is 7.1 & 6.4 for Brij 35. Further, remediation efficiency of aromatic compounds is more thanthat of aliphatic compounds.
