Phase evolution and thermal behavior of nanostructured CuNiCoZnAl high entropy alloy

چکیده مقاله:

CuNiCoZnAl equiatomic high entropy alloy was synthesized by mechanical alloying. Characterization of the alloy indicated that a FCC single phase solid solution was formed and no indication of any amorphous phase or intermetallic compound was found in the microstructure. Thermal behavior evaluation of the alloy using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) technique revealed that the solid solution phase was the stable phase from room temperature (23 °C) up to the alloy melting point (1152 °C). In spite of phase transformations in this temperature range, no indication of intermetallic compounds or amorphous phases was found.
