Rheological Properties of Concentrated Solutions of an Acrylic Terpolymer in Different Solvents

Concentrated solutions of poly(dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate-co-methyl methacrylate-co-butyl methacrylate) have been used in formulation of transdermal pressure sensitive adhesives. Self-assembly in concentrated solutions of this terpolymer in acetone and also a solvent mixture (containing acetone, ethanol, 1- propanol) was confirmed on the basis of AFM and rheological results. Different rheological behaviors in thesesolvents may be reasoned regarding with the existence of more compact self-assembled structures and also alcoholic aggregates in the solvent mixture
