چکیده مقاله:
The development of new in situ forming biomaterials and drug delivery systems has received considerable attention over the past decades. Here, we reported photo-cross-linking networks as in situ forming gels for bone reconstruction based on Poly(ethylene glycol dimethacrylate) PEGDMA. Demineralized Bone Matrix (DBM) powder was selected as an osteoinductive agent for bone induction. Water uptake and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) of crosslinked PEGDMA composites in the presence and absence of the DBM powder was evaluated. Water uptake study showed the hydrophilic behavior of the DBM and increased swelling of the composites up to 70%. Cross-sectional SEM images of the in situ forming gels showed deboning cracks at the interface of the DBM particle and polymer. PEGDMA-based in situ gels containing DBM powder are promising osteoinductive composite with desirable swelling behavior and consequently sufficient release rate
