چکیده مقاله:
In this work, thermally induced shape memory polymers were prepared based on poly(caprolactone) (PCL) and acetoxypropyl cellulose (APC) graft copolymers. The polymer precursors were formed by grafting PCL from APC as backbone (APC-g-PCL). Subsequently, polymer networks were obtained by cross-linking APCg- CL with hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI). The mechanical properties of APC-g-PCL networks were investigated by tensile test analysis. The resulted APC-g-PCL networks showed outstanding mechanical strength. Thermo-mechanical cycle test was performed to investigate shape memory properties including the percentage shape recovery and percentage shape fixity. Depending on the switching of chain segments, the studied materials show promising shape memory behavior around Tm and indicative of potential applications of APC-g-PCL as shape memory materials. As APC and PCL are both biodegradable and biocompatible materials, this new polymer has potential application in biomedical field, like biomedical suture, which would be further studied in the future
