Lattice Monte Carlo Simulation of Surfactant-Oil-Water System

Surfactant molecules generally have two mutually incompatible structural features: one hydrophobic and the other hydrophilic. In the presence of an appropriate solvent, they have the ability to aggregate into structures called micelles. In addition, such mixtures often exhibit properties more desirable than those of the constituent single surfactants. In the present work, we studied some thermodynamic parameters such as the CMC, aggregation number, and premicellar concentration for a surfactant-oil-water system using lattice Monte Carlo simulation.
