چکیده مقاله:
Partitioning in aqueous biphasic systems (ABS) is widely recognized today as a rapid, gentle, and highlyefficient technique for the separation of soluble as well as particulate biomaterials. This technique hasgained increasingattention as the separation method of choice in biotechnology.Here,the partitioning behaviour of the amino acid Ltryptophanbetween the two phases of different PEG-based ABS composed of PEG 4000 andvarious biodegradablesalts such as tri-sodium citrate (Na3C6H5O7), di-sodium tartrate (Na2C4H4O6), or di-sodium succinate (Na2C4H4O4)wasexamined.The partition coefficients of L-tryptophan (KTrp) were determined in the studied systems at T = 298.15K.Itseems that in addition to phase hydrophobicity effect,thesalt ability to salting-out amino acidcan be one of the majorfactors for transferring amino acid to PEG-rich phase.
