چکیده مقاله:

Introduction The skin is a complex organ composed of the epidermis, dermis, and also skin appendages such as the hair follicle and sebaceous gland that help maintain and protect the skin. It is noted that hair follicle has the important role in wound healing. It seems that the skin tissue engineering is a useful method for the wound healing and also might contribute to the realization of the skin regeneration. It has been proved that the dermal papilla cells (DPCs), as a dermal component, could be useful in wound healing. Dermal papilla (DP) is a multipotent stem cell that plays an important role in the hair follicle morphogenesis and regeneration. Objectives Through a systematic literature review, the present study aims to assess the application of dermal papilla cells on wound healing. Methods We conducted an electronic search in all database for articles published in the last years. Most studies demonstrated the role of hair follicle-derived cells in promoting the wound-healing response. Results Clinical observations were shown that the healing of skin wounds started around the hair follicles and that wound healing in hairy skin areas faster than those in non-hairy skin. It seems that dermal papilla stem cell promotes the wound healing process and helps re-epithelialize the skin. This mesenchymal cell can contribute to the dermal wound healing repair in a more practical approach. ConclusionResults of this study show the role of the hair follicle in wound healing and probably create new prospect and also innovative technologies to elevate healing or optimize existing therapies already in use
