چکیده مقاله:
Trade of dairies is one of the most discussed issues among EU states. Aim of thepresent study is to investigate basic structure of foreign trade of dairies of EuropeanUnion states as well as Turkey, Iceland, Croatia and Macedonia, whose integrationprocess is in progress. Thus, competitiveness levels of 27 member states and fourcandidate states were analyzed according to the code values from SITC Rev. 3 ondairies revealed for them between the years of 2009 and 2011. According to the resultsfrom the study, European Union region accounts for 58.33% of dairy import and66.30% of dairy export. 97.47% of the import by European Union occurs withinEuropean Union region. It was concluded that a commercial polarization happened inforeign trade of dairies as a result of Customs Union and Common AgriculturalPolicies. It was determined that European Union’s comparative advantage is on thefringe with respect to competition level in dairies. It is expected that the candidatenations lose their explainable competition advantage in foreign trade of dairies if theybecome a full member.
