Study the Relationship between the Types of Delinquency Committed by Young Male Delinquents and Their Familial Conditions in Yazd City

The aim of this research is to study the relationship between the types of delinquency committed by young male delinquent and their familial conditions, in Yazd city. The current research is a descriptive-survey one. The statistical population includes all male delinquents who are between 18 and 35 in prisons of Yazd province. The sampling method is an available one and according to the kind of research and previous researches the number of samples is 300. Familial conditions of the delinquents are studied through a questionnaire. Data analysis was done by SPSS software and by using phi coefficient and Cramer coefficient. The results indicated that there is a relationship between the aspects of the delinquents’ familial conditions, like marital status, age, the number of siblings, their education and their parents’ education, and the delinquency committed. But there is no relationship between the parents’ condition and the delinquency committed. Therefore, it is suggested that in programs which are to fight or prevent delinquency, the familial conditions and the delinquency committed be considered.
