Correlation between Anger and Job Motivation among Psychiatric Nurses in Kashan Psychiatric Hospital

Aims: In general, nurses who work in department of psychiatric are in factinteracting with emotional disorders of patients once providing their careservices. higher levels of job motivation and satisfaction can markedly fosterservice improvement. The aim of this study was to evaluate the correlationbetween anger and job motivation in nurses of a psychiatric hospital.Instrument & Methods: In this cross-sectional descriptive research in 2014,all 50 psychiatry nurses working at Kargarnejad Hospital of Kashan City, Iran,were entirely studied. A demographical questionnaire, the Anger Multiple Scaleand the Job Motivation Scale were used for data gathering. Data were analyzedby SPSS 19 software using Pearson correlation coefficient.Findings: The mean score of anger was 3.01±0.36 and of job motivation was1.70±0.86. There was a significant relationship between job motivation and thenumber of family members and conditions of employment of nurses (p=0.001).There was a significant inverse relationship between scores of anger and jobmotivation of psychiatry nurses of the hospital (r=-0.712; p=0.001).Conclusion: There is a relationship between anger and job motivation innurses of Kashan Psychiatric hospital.
