Molana Jalal-u-Din Mohammad Balkhy, poet and mystic of seventh century and one of the most prominent speakers of Motasavafeh (Mysticism) is among the highly celebrated poets of Persian Poetry. His book, Masnavi Ma'navi is possibly among the best rhyming couplet poems that symbols serve the poet to represent his ideas and mystic thoughts. Molana speaks his mind through anecdotes and allegories, which give the reader an opportunity to reason and discover a solution himself. The symbolic elements of stories provide the ground for an archetypal criticism. In fact, the use of symbols and archetypes makes Molana's work subject to interpretation. The archetype of symbolic death and rebirth of Jung can be applied on the symbolic roles that characters of the story The Arabian man of desert and his wife play
