Evaluation of Traffic Flow Parameters and Level of Service on Daura to Kongolom Niger Republic Border Road

The evaluation of the traffic flow parameters and relating theparameters to the level of services in Daura to Kongolom NigerRepublic Border road is presented in this paper. The study wascarried out by using moving car observer method. Data wascollected for seven consecutive days, a distance of 14 km wasconsidered for 12 runs which make a total coverage of 336km/day. The result shows that the traffic volume was 220 veh/h(two ways) in which the proportions of trucks, buses, cars andcycles were respectively 30 %, 30 %, 23 % and 19 %. The percenttime spent following was 29.42 % and the average travel speedwas 72 km/h. This corresponding to level of service C’ thisshowed that the flows falls under a zone of stable flow.
