Background: The purpose of current study was investigation of personality traits in sport perfectionism of young athletes in selected fields of Kermanshah province. Materials and Methods: This descriptive study is correlation field type of study. Statistical population included 300 individuals of young athletes of Kermanshah province in : weight lifting, wrestling, karate, badminton, football and volleyball (each one 50 individuals) in ages of 15-30, that were chosen by available sampling. For data collecting, thequestionnaire in sport perfectionism of DUNE et al (2006) and personality questionnaire of NEO were used. The result showed that, extraversion, openness, agreeableness and Conscientiousness had significant relationship with sport perfectionism. Also significant and negative relationship has been seen between Neuroticism and perfectionism. Results: The result of multi- regression showed that personality traits such as extraversion,openness, agreeableness and conscientiousness can predict significance of sport perfectionism, and neuroticism can, t predict sport perfectionism. Finally, by the result of study, more considerations on psychological aspects of athletes and especially young athletes is recommended. Conclusion: So by applied sport psychologists and identifying the traits and psychological characteristics of young athletes, improve positive aspects of personality and identifying the negative aspects of personality and modification and treatment of them
