چکیده مقاله:

Background: The aim of Succession Planning is to prepare and train talented personnel in organizations for strategic and key positions. Accordingly, the issue of succession planning is one of the most important issues in every organization. It goes without saying that there need to be proper rudiments and preliminary conditions for successful implementation of any program in organizations. Materials and Methods: This survey aimed at studying the amount and level of preparation and readiness of Ardebil Azad university’s staff for succession planning in 93-94. It was a descriptive and applied survey, and the data was collected using Durkim questionnaire. The sample consisted of all the 400 university staff from which 200 were chosen randomly using Morgan table. The data analyzed with T- test. Results and Discussions: showed that university’s readiness for Succession Planning was quite high. Also highest mean (43.04), and analysis of candidate succession planning had the lowest mean (22.96). Conclusion: It can be concluded that succession planning in Ardabil Azad University has a pretty high mean, and only candidate assessment paradigm has the lowest average which is not in a good condition and needs great attention
