چکیده مقاله:

Background and Aim : Background: HIV testing may lead that HIV-infected people participate in early care and treatment that can decline the morbidity and mortality of HIV and reduce transmission and occurrence. The aim of this study was to identify social and risky determinants associated with HIV testing among PWIDsMethods : Two independent researchers reviewed the databases of PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, and Cochrane electronic databases to identify former study subjects about social and risky determinants associated with HIV testing among PWIDs on January 2018. After reviewing for duplication, full-texts of selected 16 articles were assessed for eligibility. We used fixed and random-effects meta-analysis models to estimate the pooled prevalence, pooled odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence intervals (CI). Results : Our finding indicated significant association between education 6 years, history of incarceration, access to NSP, and visited healthcare provider or physician (OR=1.19, 95%CI=1.01-1.38), (OR=1.92, 95%CI=1.30-2.53), (OR=1.6, 95%CI=1.00-2.21), and (OR=1.46, 95%CI=1.17-1.74).Conclusion : This meta-analysis suggest that the variables associated with a recent HIV test include education≥6 years, histories of multiple incarcerations, access to NSP and visited healthcare provider or physician. We could also consider strategies to train general physicians who are certified for delivering harm reduction services to notify this group about the importance of regular HIV testing and provide them with confidential and free-of-charge HIV testing and counselling
