چکیده مقاله:

Background and Aim : Addiction is a chronic psychiatric disorder that is prevalent in many societies, including the Iranian society and it has become the serious problem for communities. The aim of this study is Comparison of the Effectiveness of transcranial direct current stimulations of the brain (tDCS) and neurofeedback on cognitive self control among substance Users. Methods : This research is a experimental study, in which the subjects were randomly assigned to experimental groups and control group. These groups were accompanied by pretest, posttest. 60 opiate dependent patients who were referred to methadone treatment centers selected using a random sampling and after completing a cognitive self control Questionnaire, randomly assigned into two experimental groups tDCS (n=20) and neurofeedback (n=20) and one control group (n=20). The treatment sessions with a direct electrical stimulation of the brain (tDCS) included 10 sessions 20-min anodal stimulation of F3 region, and Kathodal stimulation of F4 region with a current of 2 mA and treatment sessions with neurofeedback included 20 sessions 30-min. Finally, all participants completed cognitive self control Questionnaire for the second time. Data were analyzed using analysis of covariance. Results : Analysis of the data using analysis of covariance showed that there is a significant difference between the three groups in the rates of cognitive self control in the post-test phase. also Analysis of the data showed that tDCS in compared with the neurofeedback were more effective in increase the rates of cognitive self control in the post-test phase. Conclusion : The results showed that tDCS in compared with neurofeedback can increase the cognitive self control in substance Users. Hence, the recommend psychotherapists to use tDCS to treat addicted people.
