Background and Aim : Identifying and evaluating appropriate interventional approaches is important in this regard, which can determine the type of intervention to treat or reduce risky behaviors as well as manage financial resources for prevention, education and treatmentMethods : The present study was semi-experimental with the pretest-posttest design for each group. The statistical population consisted of drug-addicted men detained in compulsory treatment centers (Article 16) and non-compulsory residential treatment centers (Article 15) of Zahedan in the spring of 1398 Hijri Shamsi. From each group, 50 persons were selected by the available sampling method. Data were analyzed using covariance statistical method with SPSS version 22 softwareResults : The results showed that there was a significant difference between the mean scores of life satisfaction variables, mental health before intervention in both groups, but in the emotional adjustment variable, this difference was observed at the level of p <0.05 in the non-governmental group Also, there was a significant difference in life satisfaction between two groups of life satisfaction, mental health after intervention. However, there was no difference in the emotional adjustment variable after the intervention.Conclusion : Intervention programs, whether voluntarily or compulsorily, only help those who understand their solutions for change and want change.
