Background and Aim : Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of cognitive-behavioral stress management on quality of life and interpersonal (social and emotional) adaptation of addicts under treatment with methadone maintenance.Methods : Method: This research was a quasi-experimental and pre-test post-test design with control group. Using simple random sampling method, 30 addicts from MMT centers in Shiraz who had a low score in the quality of life questionnaire and the social-emotional Bell s social adjustment questionnaire were selected. Research samples after homogenization randomly divided into two experimental (15 subjects ( and control groups (15 subjects) ) Were divided. The experimental group received a cognitive-behavioral stress management training program for 10 sessions of 2 hours and the control group did not receive any training program.Results : Results: The results of covariance analysis indicated the effectiveness of cognitive-behavioral stress management training on increasing the level of social-emotional adjustment and quality of life in the experimental group compared with the control group.Conclusion : Conclusion: Considering the above results that show the effectiveness of cognitive-behavioral stress management therapy on interpersonal adjustment and quality of life, this treatment can be used as an effective treatment to increase the compatibility and quality of life of addicts
