Background and Aim : Recovery from substance use disorder is a multi-dimentioal and unique process. Psychological addiction recovery is one of most important aspect of recovery. Therefore, the present research strives for shedding some light on the notion of addiction psychological recovery with a qualitative analysis approach and the findings from this research have clinical applications.Methods : This qualitative study conducted using qualitative content analysis in 2018-2019. Eighteen participants ( eight recoverd client, four family member of recovered clients , six Addiction Therapists ) selected using purposive and theoretical sampling methods. Data collected through individual semi-structured, in-depth interviews. Analysis of data performed according to conventional analysis. Lincoln and Guba criteria were used to increase rigor of the results.Results : Study results classified in three categories consists of improved mental health, reclaiming the self, and being resilient. In this study, Reclaiming the self emerged as central variable, which consisted of subcategories of self -acceptance, becoming aware, cognitive reconstructionConclusion : Addiction Recovery is a multidimensional and interactive process .The results showed that psychological aspect of recovery affected by various factors. In this study, a range of effective factors and effective strategies on psychological recovery from drug abuse identified. In addition, family support, consultation, social aids and social supports were facilitating factors. Understanding these factors can help to develop body of knowledge and understanding of counselor and other health care providers about this phenomenon. As well as help families and policy makers to strength effective strategies, eliminate obstacles and provide facilitating factors for enhancing quality of life of drug abusers during recovery process
