چکیده مقاله:

Background: Overweight pregnant women are more prone to complications during pregnancy.. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of counseling based on the theory of planned behavior on overweight women s nutritional behavior before pregnancy. Methods: This randomized controlled trial was conducted on 100 overweight and obese women who were referred to a nutrition unit in Khansar city. Sampling method was convenient and samples were randomly assigned to two groups. Intervention group in addition to routine care, received 5 nutritional training sessions based on the theory of planned behavior. Data were collected with TPB questionnaireand nutritional behaviors questionnaire.Data were collected before, after and one month after training and were analyzed by SPSS software, version 16. Repeated-measure test were used. P<0.05 was considered significant. Results: Mauchly’s test indicated that the assumption of sphericity had been violated(x2 =0.382, p=0.000).Therefore degrees of freedom were corrected using Green House –Geisser estimates of sphericity. The results of repeated measure test show that overall score of the theory of planned behavior of the three time had differed significantly (P = 0.002) and a significant difference had been shown between the two groups (P = 0.002). and also, The result of repeated measure test showed that the length of time affects the nutritional behavior score (P = 0.000) and there was a significant difference between the two groups (P=0.000).Conclusion: Considering the effect of counselling based on the theory of planned behavior on nutritional behavior, it is suggested that the content of this counselling be included in the pre-pregnancy program and the mothers should be advised by trained health care provider, but given the lack of continuity of interference in a month later, It is recommended that the program be continuously and repeatedly implemented to achieve the appropriate result.
