چکیده مقاله:

The present paper is an attempt to investigate William Gibson’s Neuromancer (4891) with a critical eye on the changes and influences technology has effected in contemporary societies in recent years, and to elucidate how and in which ways these impacts have brought about changes in bothindividuals’ roles and attitudes, and also to investigate the different realms influenced by technology. Hence, in the introduction section, some such terms germane to Neuromncer as science fiction, cyberpunk, and cyberspace will be explicated to help fathom the meaning and importance of Gibson’sselected work, and then in the discussion, the focus of the current research will be on the abovementioned work in order to shed some light on the main concerns of the book. The selected work, itwill be argued, is the very typical of the current societies which fall into the negative influences of the advances associated with technology. At the end, a conclusion based upon the points discussed in the preceding sections will be drawn in order to help readers of Gibson’s appreciate the significance of his work in portraying the ramifications of advanced technology in years to come
