چکیده مقاله:

In this work, an analytical solution for the performance of the spiral wound module is presented. The module was assumed to consist of three intricacy cylindrical spacer filled channels. The pressure drops in the permeate channel, feed channel and the variation of the mass transfer coefficient and concentration along the feed channel were taken into account. By writing the mass and momentum balances for the permeate and feed channel, the equations of main parameters such as average volumetric water flux were derived. The diluted salt water was assumed as thefeed. By employing the available data in literature at different concentrations of feed (35000 and 40000 ppm), various temperatures of 20, 25, 30 and 35˚C and at the several pressures of 50, 55, 60, 70 and 80 bars the numerical parameters of module were calculated. A comparison was carried out with the experimental results. The predictions are very satisfactory. This approves the validity of modeling. Moreover, comparison with the results of modeling in flat state revealed the preference of our model in prediction of the performance of module due to considering the curvature of spiral wound module.
