The purpose of this research is to identify impacts of high performance working systems on knowledge workers retention which is based on Pfeffer's model. Predictors of this model include employment security, selecting and hiring of new personnel, teamwork, compensation, training, barrier and distinction reduction and sharing financial and performance information. A survey was carried out within two Iranian technology-based enterprises and participation of 156 knowledge workers, hence assessing new and flexible mechanism of high performance working systems on Iranian knowledge workers retention attitude. Multiple linear regressions were conducted to show strength of relationship between high performance working systems with retention. Key findings associated with strong relationship and importance of motivational dimensions. The results of this study have significant implications for enterprises, suggesting that investment in motivational dimension would result in retention of knowledge workers and turnover- related cost reduction.
