Introduction: Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic, inflammatory, and autoimmune disease of the central nervous system (CNS), leading to widespread focal degradation of the myelin sheath, variable axonal and neuronal injury, and disabilities in young adults, mostly women In other hand, obesity is a current public health problem around the world. Obesity has more than doubled in children and quadrupled in adolescents over the past 30 years. The transition is that MS is not separate from this category. We found that the prevalence of obesity in patients with MS in Kerman province we evaluated.Methods: This descriptive-analytic cross-sectional study was performed on 105 patients with MS in Kerman who were diagnosed by an expert neurologist. First the BMI of patient was calculated, and then the number of attacks in last year and their EDSS was calculated. The plaque was also determined according to the last MRI. The obtained information was recorded in a questionnaire and analyzed by a survey.Results: The mean age of the patients was 31.51 ± 6.55 years, and the mean duration of the disease was 7.33 ± 4.52 years. The mean EDSS and BMI of patients were 2.44 ± 1.83 and 24.81 ± 5.11 kg / m2, respectively. Conclusion: The results showed that there was no significant correlation between mean BMI of patients with the location of the lesion by comparing the BMI with the presence of lesion in different locations.
