The Effect Of Spiritual Support Of Caregiver On Social Dimension Of Quality Of Life Of Children Aged 8-12 WithLeukemia Hospitalized In Doctor Sheikh Hospital In Mashhad

Quality of life is closely related to Nursing, Because caring not only reduce mortality and increasesurvival but also Relationship with parents and helping them can effect on caring function, such ascontrolling the side effects of disease and changing body image. Because of the importance ofspirituality in the field of health, this research is carried out aimed at examining the effect ofSpiritual Support of caregiver on social dimension of quality of life of children aged 8-12 withleukemia. In this clinical trial study participated 60 caregivers of children with leukemia.Intervention group was monitored in 5 sessions based on spiritual intervention on the Richards andBergin pattern by focusing on the rituals of Islam and including psycho-spiritual components:prayer, trust and appeal, patience, gratitude and forgiveness, each day during 60 minutes.Research instruments consisted of demographic data questionnaires, spiritual healthquestionnaires and teenager quality of life questionnaires being completed before and after theintervention. Statistical analyses were conducted with SPSS version 16. According to findings byWilcoxon test before the intervention, The difference of social dimension of quality of life betweentwo groups was not significant) P=0.344). After the Intervention, the social dimension of quality oflife was significantly lower than the control group) P=0.033). Sessions of spiritual support forcaregivers can increase social dimension of quality of life of children with leukemia.
