چکیده مقاله:
The canonical and non-canonical Wnt signaling pathways play critical roles in animal development and normal cellular physiology and homeostasis. Therefore, deregulation of either of these signalingpathways leads to developmental abnormalities and different human diseases including human cancers. The canonical Wnt signal transduction (or the Wnt//B-Catenin pathway) is dependent on the protein, B-Catenin (the vertebrate homologue of the Drosophila Armadillo). B-Catenin is the product of the proto-oncogene, CTNNB1. Although, upregulation and higher biological activities of B-Catenin wasoriginally detected in human colorectal cancer, similar deregulation has also been reported in some other human malignancies. Here, I present the results from my laboratory showing the interaction between heterotrimeric G-proteins and the Wnt/B-Catenin signal transduction. Heterotrimeric G- proteins are among the most important signalling molecules regulating diverse biological activities. Themechanism of the interaction between heterotrimeric G-proteins and the Wnt/B-Catenin signalling pathways would help us to provide new directions toward prevention and treatment of human cancers
