چکیده مقاله:
Apoptosis is a process of programmed cell death. The intracellular cell death program is regulated by extracellular signals, that can either activate apoptosis or inhibit it. Schiff base is a functional group that including a double bond (between carbon and nitrogen). Many studies have been reported regarding the biological activities of Schiff bases, contains their anticancer, antioxidant, antibacterial, antifungal. In this study, evaluated apoptosis mechanism of Schiff base copper (II) complex with flow cytometry assay. human breast cancer cell line (MCF7) was seeded and treated by different concentrations of complex Schiff base copper (II) (250, 125, 62.5 μg/mL) for 48 h. After this period, the cells were washed (PBS) and then mixed with PI (propidium iodide). With increasing concentration (complex Schiff base copper (II)) SubG1 peak was showed significant increase that this demonstrates the disruptive effect of complex Schiff base copper (II) on MCF7 cells. The SubG1 peak in IC50 have been reported of about 48.4%. flow cytometry study showed complex cause to increasing SubG1 peak in the cell cycle of treated cells that finally leads induce apoptosis.
