Mir-135 as novel serum biomarker in endometriosis and ovarian cancer

Currently miRNA due to its stability in circulation is used as a powerful biomarker in different disease especially cancer and enables us to detect it in early stage. Recent experimental studies disclosed that there is close association between mir-135 and endometriosis and ovarian cancer too so we could use mir-135 as potential noninvasive biomarker in endometriosis and ovarian. 25 women withendometriosis and 25 women with ovarian cancer 25 women without the disease (controls). Serum samples collected from women undergoing laparoscopy for endometriosis and ovarian cancer. TotalRNA extracted from serum and quantitative reverse-transcription polymerase chain reaction to determine miR-135 expression levels. Our experimental study revealed that expression levels of miR- 135 was down-regulate in individuals suffering from endometriosis and ovarian cancer compared with control humans so its expression levels is usable as potential biomarker in ovarian cancer andendometriosis detection
