چکیده مقاله:

Lung cancer is one of the deadliest cancers around the world, with the highest mortality between all cancers. The most common type of lung cancer is non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), and the highestmortality rate is due to late diagnosis and early detection strategies for NSCLC are still very limited.T- box (TBX) genes encode a family of transcription factors (TBX2, 3, 4, 5) which plays an important rolethroughout organogenesis and development. Recent studies indicate that TBX genes has been implicated in cell cycle regulation and cancer, especially in lung cancer.Lately, studies report that all fourmembers of the TBX2 subfamily are significantly decreased in NSCLCs and premalignant precursor lesions compared to normal lung but still more evidence need to be sure.In this review we aim toelucidate the role of TBX2 subfamily in early detection of lung cancer. In conclusion TBX2 subfamily is significantly decreased in human premalignant and malignant lung lesions compared to normal lung.We hypothesize that TBX2 subfamily may serve as a novel bronchial four-gene biomarker for early detection also Restoration of TBX2 subfamily expression could be useful in clinical therapies
