Cloning and Expression of Fimbrial Subunit of Enteroaggregative Escherichia coli

Enteroaggregative Escherichia coli (EAEC) is an emerging diarrhoeal pathogen which is not amenable to management with oral rehydration therapy (ORT). Therefore preventative measures have been recommended and for this purpose structural subunit of aggregative adherence fimbriae I, a potential critical antigen of the prototype strain 17-2 was cloned and expressed in E.coli as the preliminary step for its use in immunisation
