The Use of New Materials in the Internal Combustion Engines

For the reason of improving and upgrading the power of engine, the mechanical and thermal loads were increased. Therefore in order to achieve optimal operation and performance, the use of new material with special characteristics such as: withstanding against high mechanical load, resistant to wear, minimum weight, resistance against high temperature with new coating is necessary. Some of the expected increase in the fuel efficiency and high performance of diesel and gasoline engine is realized by improvement characteristics of them based on using new materials. Some source indicates to achieve the high performance and new engine design's goals (ultra clean, supper efficient), the new materials were used which can be divided to three important groups: ceramic materials and ceramic coating and composites. in this paper we try to introduced some application of the above mentioned new materials groups.
