چکیده مقاله:

Introduction: Acinetobacter baumannii is an important multidrug-resistant opportunistic pathogen that frequently causing various nosocomial infections and is a serious threat to burn patients. So far, there are few reports about sensitivity patterns of multi-drug resistant Acinetobacter baumannii (MDR), especially carbapenem resistance from various hospitals in Isfahan, Iran. Methods: In this study 72 strains of MDR from referral burn unit of Isfahan hospital (imam mosa kazem) were collected during 2017 (in 3 month). Sensitivity pattern to antibiotics was determined by Kirby-Bauer method for each isolate. PCR method was used to determine frequency of various genes responsible for resistance to carbapenem. Results: The rate of resistance to tested antibiotics was more than 89%. In addition, this study showed the high prevalence of blaVIM, blaIMP, blaTEM, blaADC, OXA subtype and ISAba1 genes that mediated resistance to betalactam antibiotics. Conclusion: These results indicate that all isolates were resistant to betalactam antibiotics. These results suggest more study on rational usage of carbapenem for treatment of infections by Acinetobacter baumannii which help to control antibiotic resistance.
