Background and Aim : Resilience is one of the coping strategies that helps a person to cope with stressful situations. Resiliency is a dynamic process whereby individuals exhibit positive coping behaviors when faced with adversity. This study aimed to determine the association between resilience and anxiety in patients undergoing skin transplant candidates. Methods : This was a cross-sectional descriptive-correlational study. Sampling was done using available method and according to inclusion criteria. The instruments used in this study were: 1) Demographic profile form 2) Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI) and Conner and David Sun Resilience Tool (CD-RISC) and one half hour before surgery during 20 to 30 Minutes . The minutes were completed in the hospitalized ward where the patient was being monitored. After data collection, the researcher completed the questionnaires using SPSS 21 software and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics in the form of tables and numerical indices. And analyzed Results : The results showed that 66.2% of the studied patients had a resilience score above 50 and the mean 64.57 with a standard deviation of 22.25. The mean anxiety score was 45.4%. The research was at a very mild level. The level of anxiety was 12.88 with a standard deviation of 10.45. There was a statistically significant correlation between resiliency and anxiety, which was negatively correlated with increasing 0resiliency scores, and patients anxiety decreased (p <0.001) and (r = -0 \ 808, respectively). Education (p <0.001), economic status (p = 0.001), employment status (p = 0.02), and residence (p = 0.035) were statistically significant. And in other cases this difference was not significant. It also showed that education (p = 0.004), economic status (p = 0.011), employment status (p = 0.03) and residence (p = 0.016) Anxiety was statistically significant. And in other cases the difference was not significant Conclusion : The overall results of the study showed that resiliency and anxiety are related to each other, meaning that the higher the resiliency, the lower the anxiety level. that Patients with burns candidate for skin transplantation had mild anxiety and moderate resilience, Resilience training is suggested to reduce anxiety before surgery.
