چکیده مقاله:

Background and Aim : Burns are one of the major health problems that accidentally affect the physical and mental health of people. Nowadays, stem cells are the center of attention among medical sciences due to their ability to proliferate and repair. Stem cells derived from adipose tissue are readily accessible and can be widely used in burn healing because of their capabilities in tissue repair. The purpose of this study was to assess the effect of adipose-derived stem cells with silver sulfadiazine ointment. Methods : This experimental study was performed on27healthy adult male Wistar rats, aged3to4months and weighing200-250g. The rats were anesthetized, then second-degree burns with an area of4cm2 were performed on all animals. In the first experimental group, a certain amount adipose stem cells were injected into the dermis of the burned area, and the experimental group received topical silver sulfadiazine ointment once daily. The control group received no treatment. Results : The number of fibroblasts and vessels in the burn area in the stem cell group were significantly different from other groups. In addition, there was a lower percentage of inflammation in the stem cell recipient group than in the silver sulfadiazine group and showed a high recovery rate for the treated adipose-derived stem cell group. Conclusion : The results of our study showed that according to histopathological criteria, adipose stem cells are more effective in the treatment of second degree burns than silver sulfadiazine.
