چکیده مقاله:

Response modification factor (R-Factor) is a seismic design parameter to assess nonlinear performance of structures during strong ground motion. Regarding this, many seismic design codes lead to reduce earthquake loads. The present paper attempts to evaluate R-Factor of dual moment resistant frame withordinary braces (CBFs) and buckling resistant braces (BRBs). Since R-Factor depends on ductility and overstrength, static nonlinear analysis and nonlinear incremental dynamic analyses (IDA) are performed on building models with different stories and braces (diagonal, invert V, split X). The results show that RFactorsof BRBs are higher than the values of (CBFs) in all of the models. It has also been mentioned thatthe ductility and R-Factors of the frames decrease in all models while the height of structures increases. Finally, it has been found that the types of bracing systems have the significant effects on R-Factors
