چکیده مقاله:
Statistics show about 60 percent of the existing buildings in the Iran's country are masonry buildings that many of them are in the earthquake areas. Most of these buildings have not been designed for seismic loads. different Conventional and unconventional ways of retrofitting are so that they can increase the strength and/or ductility of unreinforced masonry (URM) walls. This paper reviews and discusses about masonry buildings walls, retrofitting with emphasis on conventional methods. In this paper have been trying to do with a case study of a building made of stone masonry in Italy that damaged in the 1980 earthquake and its generalization to similar retrofitting masonry buildings in Iran. reviews with the help of the finite element method and ANSYS with homogeneous construction techniques will be evaluated. Linear and non-linear methods compare with each other and the properties of each method are shown. reviews reveals an elevate stiffness can be recognized in the isotropic case, so that the maximum displacements in the four load cases examined for the isotropic behaviour are about 15% of the displacements obtained in the corresponding orthotropic ones. As well as by injecting grout, reduce displacement and increased structural stiffness on the seismic load when applied in the orthotropic case was observed
