چکیده مقاله:

As novel carbon based sorbents, carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have attracted considerable amount of attention duo to their unique electrical, mechanical, optical properties. multi-walled CNTs (MWCNTs) have been used as sorbents in packed micro column for solid phase extraction (SPE), separation and preconcentration of a wide variety of analytes. Functionalized MWCNTs have improved hydrophilicity and stronger binding affinity to certain compounds. In this study we report synthesize and application of functionalized MWCNTs as sorbent in SPE for separation and preconcentration of cefixime as a model compound. Functionalized carbon nanotubes with carboxyl groups, using (v/v 3:1) mixture of concentrated H2SO4 and HNO3acid. Surface functionalization was confirmed by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. All of the experimental condition for fanctionalized MWCNTs –SPE including pH of sample solution, flow rate of sample solution through SPE micro column and elution solvent were investigatedand optimized. Determination of cefixime by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC-UV) was performed. The method was validated for linearity, accuracy and, limit of detection. The detector response for cefixime was linear over the selected concentration range from 0.2 to 20.0 μg mL−1. the selected concentration range from 0.2 to 20.0 μg mL−1. Repeatability studies resulted a relative standard deviation 1–6%. The propused method was successfully applied for the preconcentration and determination of the cefixime antibiotic in aquoesesamples
