Potentiometric study of 2-methyl imidazole -2, 6-pyridine di carboxylic acid proton-transfer system and it′s complexation with Ca2+and Cd2+ ions

In this work , stability constants of 2-methylimidazole/ 2,6-pyridinedi carboxylic acid proton transfer systems and complexes with Ca2+ and Cd2+ ions has been studied by potentiometric method. All steps of titrations carried out in 25.0±0.1 ˚C and I=0.1 M NaNO3 Legends’ protonation constants and stability constants of proton transfer and its metal complexes were evaluated by computer refinement of the pH- Volume titration data using the BEST computer program. The distribution diagram of all systems as a function of pH was depicted by using Hyss 2009 program. The most likely species were obtained from distribution diagrams. And the results compared with obtained information in solid state.
