Identifying the barriers of sustainable agriculture by wheat farmers in Takestan City

The purpose of this study is to identify the barriers of sustainable agriculture by wheatfarmers in Takestan city. The descriptive- correlation research method is used for datacollection. A stratified random sample of five rural districts containing a total of ١٤٩ casesof Wheat Farmers in the study of a population of ٢٦٨ subjects is selected. Data have beencollected using a researcher made questionnaire which is validated by a panel of expertsfrom related fields from the universities and ministry of agriculture. The reliability index isestablished by calculating a Coronbach’s coefficient (α=٠.٩٠٥). Data has been analyzedusing the statistical package for social sciences SPSS(١٦). Prioritization of barriers ofsustainable agriculture reveals that the high cost of implementing sustainable agriculture,with an average of ٤.٧٤ is the highest priority. The results of multiple regressionsdemonstrate Methods and attitudes to sustainable agriculture determine ٨٩% of variance ofthe barriers of sustainable agriculture. The attitudes to sustainable agriculture have themost influence on determination of casual model of adult learner (β= .٧٧٥). Also, bycomparing means it can be concluded that Increasing knowledge and level of farmers'experiences will improve their tendency toward sustainable agriculture.
