Feasibility of using treated wastewater in Île-de-France, France

The scarcity of water resources and degradation of its quality is a major challenge for the twenty-first century. France, which has significant water resources, seems favored to use its resources with more attention. Also for ameliorating water quality in France, French government and its health ministry have developed many approaches. One of these approaches is using treated wastewater as a water resource not only to decrease the pressure on the water resources, but also to improve water bodies’ quality and achieving the sustainable development. This article will focus on the feasibility of using treated wastewater projects in the capital of France. Also a few words about its risk for human health, its applications and at the end an economical and sustainable method to study feasibility of such projects will be discussed.
