چکیده مقاله:
Introduction: There are many studies that show variations in MHC gene are associated with disease. The study isincluded haplotype frequency of Khuzestan population. Studying of HLA alleles is useful in bone marrowtransplantation and disease studies. Identification the frequency and association of HLA-DRB1*1501, -DQA1*0102, -DQB1*0602, -DRB5*01 and -A*0301 haplotypes in normal population according to ethnicity(Arab and non-Arab), was the aim of this survey. Methods: polymerase chain reaction using specific sequence primers (PCR-SSP) technology was conducted forHLA typing of 242 healthy individuals without any record of diseases. The association between HLA genotypesand ethnicity was analyzed by SPSS software.Result: Neither of the two, three and four allelic haplotypes showed significant association with Arab and non-Arab ethnicities including DQB1*0602+-DQA1*0102+-A*301--DRB5*01- (25.6% vs. 42.5% p=0.103),DRB1*1501--DQB1*0602+-DQA1*0102+-A*301- (p=0.867), DQB1*0602+-DQA1*0102+-A*301- (p=0.84),DQB1*0602+-DQA1*0102+ (0.469), DQA1*0102+-A*301- (p=0.368).Conclusion: A part of genetic background of Khuzestan population was revealed that can be used intransplantation and disease studies. Our results show that the haplotypes have normally high frequency in thestudied population.
