The survey of the effect of GFCF (gluten free casein free) diet on kid’s behavior with ASD (autism spectrum disorders)

Introduction: Autism is a common developmental disorder that can be diagnosed by symptoms like social communication difficulties, low level of concentration, and habitual restricted actions. Gluten is a protein that can found in all types of wheat products. Casein is the milk specified protein that only constitutes only the mammal’s milk. The Gluten-free casein-free (GFCF) is a kind of a diet that limits all grains containing gluten (including wheat, barley, and rye), and dairy products. In this study, we aimed to survey the efficacy of the GFCF diet on the ASD kids (both girls and boys under 20) treatment or symptom’s dilution. Method: By PubMed, Google Scholar, the web of science, and the Scopus research browser, we found 45 articles during (2010-2020). Then we assessed ten articles (four originals and six reviews). Keywords were including Autism, gluten, casein, GFCF diet, and ASD kids Result: some studies demonstrated that the GFCF diet not only improves the ASD kid’s concentration but also prevents gastrointestinal disorders in the kids. (P<0.05). While other researches claimed that GFCF does not affect ASD kids (P<0.001). The GFCF diet can only be efficient in the condition of the Kid’s gluten allergy by elevating the kid’s social abilities, and their patience capacity (p=0.043). Conclusion: there are controversial results regarding the efficacy of the GFCF diet on ASD kids. The GFCF diet can weaken the extreme impatience and distractions in kids with these protein allergies. However, for the other ASD kids, this diet is not recommended.
