چکیده مقاله:

Over the recent years various methods in an effort to remove phosphate and nitrate in water have been applied. To fulfill this goal, using biological treatment via microalgae is a common method. These microorganisms are caught the attentions since they are accessible in oceans and seas and eco-friendly. Moreover they have high absorbance capacity of dangerous substances for human. Microalgae needs nutrients, such as nitrate and phosphate to be survived therefore their biomass concentration becomes high due to consume these materials. However, they can make useful substances. In this survey, nitrate and phosphate removals in water have been considered in an airlift photo bioreactor. Since dry weight is a criterion to microalgae growth and cell concentration, the aim of this survey is to consider the effect of biomass concentration on nitrate and phosphate removal from water and the comparison of their removal efficiencies in an internal loop airlift bioreactor. According to results, spirulina could be more successful in removing nitrate by removing 77% in comparison with phosphate by removing 65%.
