چکیده مقاله:

Oxidative desulfurization (ODS) has been promising as a substitute or complementary process for conventional hydrodesulfurization method because of mild reaction condition. Heterogeneous catalysts in ODS are of interest due to the advantages of easy separation and reusability, and the acid properties of these catalysts are very important. In this work, sulfation of the Ti/ SiO2 catalyst was studied with the aim of creating additional acid sites. The results showed that despite the fact that parent catalyst was very active, sulfation could improve the catalyst performance because by increasing the surface acidity of the catalyst, more reactants can be absorbed. It was found that temperature is a very important parameter in catalyst performance, so that the catalyst could not achieve to more than 45% conversion at 60 ° C.
