چکیده مقاله:

UV curing technology due to its great benefits has been developed in recent decades. Acrylate systems such as epoxy acrylates and polyester acrylates are the most widely enjoyed oligomers in curable coatings. These systems have relatively high viscosity. Thus, monomers with low molecular weight which are named reactive diluents are used to reduce viscosity to improve some physical and mechanical properties. But reactive diluents are also relatively volatile and allergic. Therefore, their replacement with less hazardous materials has always been a concern. In terms of renewable resources and eco-friendly concerns vegetable oils have special place in industry. Modification of vegetable oils and using them in UV curing coatings is carried out in a variety of ways. One of the most important and widespread ways to modify them is epoxidation. In this study, epoxidized soybean oil acrylate(ESOA) was synthesized from epoxidized soybean oil(ESO) by using acrylic acid. Triphenylphosphine(TPP) and Hydroquinone were used as catalyst and inhibitor, respectively. This reaction was monitored by analytical data in terms of epoxy equivalent weight, acid value, viscosity and spectroscopically analysis.
