چکیده مقاله:

The aim of this paper is to simulate of reaction furnace and waste heat boiler of the sulfur recovery unit (SRU) of Ilam refinery using the Aspen® software to increase liquid sulfur recovery in waste heat boiler by maintaining product quality and operating conditions based on Ilam refinery data for this unit. There are three variables for the unit, including feed flow rate, air flow rate and furnace temperature. Comparison between simulation results and process data revealed that the simulation has an error of less than 4% which is acceptable at the industrial scale. Sensitivity analysis was carried out for furnace temperature and feed flow rate to find the best operational conditions. The results indicated that reducing the amount of H2S using appropriate kinetics, will results in 30% increase liquid sulfur recovery in waste heat boiler.
