چکیده مقاله:

Research of porous materials has been of great interest for a long time due to their potential applications. Metal Organic Frameworks (MOFs) are examples of 3-Dimensional porous materials which have received a lot of attention. Zeolitic Imidazolate Frameworks (ZIFs) are special class of MOF which have desirable properties of both zeolites and MOFs such as microporosity, crystallinity and high surface area and exceptional chemical and thermal stability. In this research the synthesis of ZIF-8 to find the most suitable ZIF-8 particle morphologies was investigated. A cost-effective and facile preparation method for the synthesis of ZIF-8 has been used also the effect of synthesis parameter including molar ratio of ligand to zinc ion (Hmim/Zn2+) in methanol solution as non-toxic solvent towards the formation of ZIF-8 at room temperature was investigated. The resultant ZIF-8 samples were characterized using Xray diffraction and nitrogen physisorption and scanning electron microscopy. The results exhibited that highly crystalline ZIF-8 was successfully synthesized within 1:8 molar ratio (Zn2+:Hmim), with the BET surface area up to 1561 m2/g and total pore volume of 0.95 cm3/g.
